Bubble Tea

Currie and I went out for dinner tonight to "The Loop"-- a very ethnically diverse strip w/ tons of cool restaurants and stores. We had Thai food, a fav of Dan and Shanna that we have only recently discovered ourselves.

After dinner we went to St. Louis Bubble Tea, which I heard about on the radio a few weeks ago. It was a strange experience to say the least. The cafe-like atmosphere offers over 100 drinks, hot, cold, flavored, each w/ or w/o "boba." We ordered a mango pudding tea with boba. The cup came sealed at the top and we had to poke a giant straw through it. Turns out the pudding part of the drink was strips of mango flavored pudding floating in what would otherwise have been normal iced tea. Boba are these tapioca-like black, chewy balls that sink to the bottom of your cup. I carefully avoided sucking up the boba after I had to literally force myself to chew the first one that came flying up my straw. Anyhow, it was definitely a multi-cultural evening and we will go back to the Bubble Tea place for milk teas, slushies or "snows," but no more "boba" for me, thanks.

There's a first time for everything...

Well, August has been a month full of "firsts." Even though I've been teaching for a year and a half, this was my first "first day of school." At BFA I came 2 weeks late, and last semester I started in January. This is also my first time teaching Science.

That same week I had my first car accident. So, this was the first time I've gone car shopping and bought a car. This past week was my first time driving stick shift!!

Last weekend we went to a wedding-- It was my first time driving through Iowa and being in Minnesota.

And, finally yesterday was my first time going to a chiropractor (I've had back pain for months-- found out my hips are badly misaligned and I may or may not have a herniated disk). :)
