When Bishop John Shelby Spong ordained Gene Robinson as bishop of the Diocese of New Hampshire the following letter was sent to the editor of an unknown newspaper (let me know if you know the source):
“I'm just glad that the church's father Henry VIII and his wife Catherine of Aragon, and his wife Anne Boleyn, and his wife Jane Seymour, and his wife Anne of Cleves, and his wife Catherine Howard, and his wife Catherine Parr aren't here to see this slight to the institution of marriage!”
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the liberals' slogans and quips are a whole lot more witty than ours?

I appreciate your noticing the political wit going around, even if it is from an opposing viewpoint. I've always fancied myself an equal opportunity comic enthusiast, and I too revel in conservative wit.
How is everything going? Things back here are well - I was in Ecuador for four AMAZING months last semester, and though I miss it tremendously I'm glad to be back in the country and in the company of my best good friend Jayne. My family moved to Kansas in August, so I spent spring break out there with them. I'm getting ready to graduate in December, and I'm definitely not ready yet. Nor am I ready for Jayne to leave.
Today was Grady's last official Sunday at Cornerstone. It's difficult to lose such a spiritual force. I guess I didn't realize until recently what an impact he's had on my faith journey and what an amazing teacher he is. I find myself wishing I had been able to speak more with him in my (and his) time here. Jayne, our friend Shane and I went with a mission team from the church down to Biloxi, Mississippi for a week at the beginning of February to do Katrina relief work. What a blessing it was! We spent an entire week doing nothing but serving, having fellowship, and studying God's Word! After church on Wednesday night, Jayne and I even sat in on choir rehearsal! Everyone was very welcoming, and there is a definite attitude of optimism and progress down there that I did not expect. We're hoping to return at the end of the semester.
Sorry - this has turned into more of an email than a comment. I hope all is well for you! We sure do miss having you around!
In Peace,
Jamie
Hey! Yeah, I'm applying to schools in NC now, since I've switched to law. Thanks for the comment! :) How have you been??
Caitlin has a couple of blogs, but she doesn't really keep up with them. One of them is livejournal.com/users/strata_gem. I think she updates that one more than any other.
Oh, I got Currie's e-mail asking for Mary's regular address... I'll send that as soon as I can find it. Anyhoo, I hope you're having a great week! :)
